[Principal Software Engineer – IT] Platform Engineer

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Design, develops, tests, debugs, maintains and document program code in accordance with systems quality accredited standards, policies, and procedures.
• Identifies business needs, analyzes, and creates software solutions.
• Prepares design documentation, test data for unit testing, string, and parallel testing.
• Evaluates and recommends solutions (software and hardware) to meet user needs.
• Provides software solutions to resolve customer issues and responds to recommendation for improvements and enhancements.
• Works with business users and development teams to ensure testability.
• Responsible for writing and maintaining test plans, test cases, and test scripts for automation.
• Executes test procedures, logs issue, and makes recommendations to solve the problems.
• Responsible for retesting the software, conducting performance and scalability testing.
• Documents evolution of testing procedures for future replication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plans, conducts, and leads moderate, high budgets projects or multiple projects.
• Manages user requirements to ensure business goals and deadlines are met.
• Trains, mentors, and review less experienced team members
• Serves as technical consultant to organization leadership and functional user groups.
• Performs effort estimation for complex projects and tracks development progress.
• Documents, evaluates test results; documents testing script evolution for future replication.
• Works on the most difficult problems that require in-depth analysis of situations, data, and various factors.
• Recommends and implements changes to improve the effectiveness of quality assurance strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Must Have Skills
• Having more than 7 years of experience in platform maintenance and administration activities
• Having at least 3 years of experience in Docker and Kubernetes and know how to deploy, configure, and maintain applications.
• Minium 3 years administration working knowledge of networking, Server, NAS, Linux and command-line, regular expressions, and REST APIs.
• Expertise in maintaining databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Mongo.
• Good administration skills in managing complex application infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and load Monitoring, responding to ad hoc load requests, and failure recovery.
• Experience in configuring and implementing DEV Ops CICD using Gitlab etc. for an application with multiple technologies.
• Solving issues and collaborating with the development/support teams to assist them in completing projects on time.
• Good knowledge of upgrade activities.
• Good experience with both on-premises and cloud data platforms.
• Experience in DR / Backup.
Desirable Skills
• Strong knowledge of Data Governance Tools like BigID, Manta, Alation, Informatica Data Quality.
• Good Administration skills in Informatica Server, User Administration.
• Collaborate with DBA/Support teams to promptly resolve Problems.
• Backup profiles to ensure safety and add new entries for new installations.
Work Arrangement
Location: Round Rock, TX – hybrid onsite role 2-3 days per week
Schedule: 40 hours/week. Flex schedule to accommodate meetings with overseas counterparts
